🌞 Hathersage Pool’s Summer Solstice 24‑Hour Swim: A Record‑Breaking Celebration of Summer, Music & Our Swimming Community.

This year’s Summer Solstice 24‑Hour Swim was nothing short of extraordinary. From sunrise to sunrise, our pool became a glowing hub of community spirit, live music, laughter, and the simple joy of being in the water on the longest day of the year.

Across the full 24 hours, an incredible 1,600 people took a dip — our biggest solstice celebration yet.

🌅 Sunrise Sessions: A Magical Start to the Longest Day

The day began with our much‑loved Solstice Sunrise Swims, where more than 350 early‑morning swimmers joined us to welcome the first light. With the hills glowing gold and steam rising gently from the water, the atmosphere was calm, reflective, and quietly joyful.

Many swimmers told us it was their favourite swim of the year, and we couldn’t agree more.

🎶 Evening & Late‑Night Sessions: Music, Moonlight & Over 700 Swimmers

As the sun dipped behind Stanage Edge, the pool transformed again — this time into a lively, social, festival‑style celebration.

Between 6pm and 9pm, our live musicians filled the poolside with brilliant energy, creating a warm, summery soundtrack for the evening’s swims. The evening sessions 6pm to 3am welcomed over 700 swimmers, with families, friends, night‑owls and seasoned solstice regulars all taking part.

Late into the night, the water glowed under the lights, and the atmosphere after 1am became wonderfully peaceful — a rare chance to swim outdoors under the stars.

🌙 A Full 24 Hours of Community Spirit

Across the entire event, 1,600 people enjoyed a swim — a testament to the strength of our community and the magic of Hathersage Pool on the longest day of the year.

From first‑time visitors to long‑standing pass holders, from sunrise dippers to midnight adventurers, every swimmer helped make this year’s solstice one to remember.
